HIRE POLICY FAQ's
Please take the time to read our hire policies as they have valuable information about your next car or van hire.
What is the pick up procedure?
You give us a pickup time at the time of booking then when you arrive, we complete any further details and take down your licence number.
Can I take the vehicle abroad ?
It may be possible to take our vehicle to certain parts of continental Europe but this is subject to certain criteria Please contact us on 023 922 982 370.
Do you require my driving licence?
Yes, in order to proceed with your rental agreement you are required to produce a current valid UK Driver’s Licence detailing your address and showing that you are qualified to drive the vehicle that you intend to hire.
You will also need to obtain and present us with a valid licence code, which is you can get from https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence , which will authorise us to view your licence details online. To do this, simply enter your driving licence number, national insurance numbers and your postcode (which should match the postcode on your licence).
Driver must present 2 additional forms of ID to confirm the licence holder and the home address. One ID must be the credit card/bank statement for the credit card/debit card being presented for the deposit and additional charges. The other should be a formal document (e.g., work ID card, passport). ID’s must be dated within 3 months of date of hire. A credit or debit card in their own name. Additional drivers must present a valid driving licence. Please contact Hampshire Hire Ltd prior to hiring if you have any questions regarding identification required
I have endorsements on my licence. Can I still hire from you?
Some endorsements are acceptable subject to the terms and conditions and the limitations imposed by our insurers.
Can I Insure the vehicle myself?
Yes. If you wish to self-insure a car/van, please contact us and we will be able to provide a make model and registration for you. Before collection of the vehicle, we would need the insurance cover note, this must state the make, model, registration and dates and we would need to hold a copy of this on file.
Can I leave my car whilst hiring your vehicle?
Yes, provided we have sufficient parking available. Customers and visitors parking on our premises do so at their own risk.
Will I be required to pay a deposit pending return of the rental vehicle?
A deposit is required when you hire the vehicle. This is typically £500.00 for vans and £250.00 for cars but we reserve the right to vary this amount.
Fully comprehensive insurance is included within the hire charge. Insurance excess is an amount payable by the hirer for each event of damage or theft claimed on the vehicle, or any third party claim made against HAMPSHIRE HIRE LTD the Insurance excess is £2000.00
The following are not covered by our Insurance and are chargeable on a case by case basis:
* Damage or repairs deemed as a result of abnormal, deliberate or negligent acts
* Lost or broken keys
* Damage to windscreens and glass
* Punctures or blowouts
* Damage above windscreen height
Failure to abide by the terms and conditions of each hire may revoke the insurance cover and thus make the hirer fully liable.
The age range is between 25 and 69. Anyone who does not match this criteria please contact us direct on 023 9224 4722 as we may still be able to provide Insurance with permissions from the insurer.
